Purchase a copy of The Gift of Giving, try out some of our patterns and join our group.
Joining is easily done via the link below. By joining you will be kept up to date with charities that are in need of donations. You will also be able to join with other members in making a combined donation through our Charity of the Month projects. You work at your own pace there is no pressure put upon you to do more than you are able or wish to do.
If you know of any group, hospital, whatever, who distribute knitted or crocheted garments directly to needy people and they are not already listed on our Charity page please email me with details and we will endeavour to help them. Keep in mind that we also help Animal Shelters with rugs, coats etc. from time to time so you are welcome to give details for them too.
Please Note - we do not donate garments for sale -- our donations are for distribution to the needy only.
If you dont wish to join our group or knit/crochet yourself perhaps you have some spare yarn that you could donate. We have members in every State and Territory in Australia who are willing and able to use it up. Small oddments are welcome - they are used for toys and animal rugs (animals aren't fussy what their rugs look like so long as they are warm)
If you work in either of these fields and can spare some time to answer some questions for me I would be very grateful.
I would dearly love to get Deductible Gift Recipient and Non-Profit Tax Exemption for our group. I have applied for and received an ABN Number but have been refused the other two status's. I find the paperwork daunting and have trouble understanding it all.
The reason for the refusal was because we do not have a constitution so I really need help with this side of things.
If you can offer me some advice please email me, Pamela knit4charities@gmail.com
Become a sponsor or make a donation! Our main problem is the cost of postage. Our items are sent all over the country and many more members would be able to donate to our Charity of the Month projects if they did not have to worry about the cost of postage.
We are looking for sponsorship for $3000.00 per year to help with postage costs. If you know of a business that would like to help a very needy cause please refer us to them. We are happy to advertise their business, website, whatever on our website and to include promotion material if kept to a reasonable minimum with our bundles of donations. Full or even part sponsorship would be very welcome.
If you would like to make a cash donation towards our postage costs you can do so through PayPal.
If you would just like to send a few stamps please contact me for the address.
Following is a list of other charities that we will be helping in the future. Along with those we already support (see here http://www.freewebs.com/knit4charities/charitieswehavehelped.htm ) you may wish to contact and support them without being part of our group.
